How does pickup work?
Please refer to our "How to Pickup" page for pickup instructions, locations, and times!
Where do you deliver to?
We currently offer local delivery for $1 extra per order across Marin County. Please see our "Local Delivery" page for more information on delivery areas and times!
Which days do you deliver?
Our full delivery schedule can be found on our delivery info page
Is the sourdough organic?
Yes! we pride ourselves on using all organic ingredients in our sourdough, except the salt, which cannot be certified organic because it's a mineral. Since the USDA only evaluates agricultural ingredients, our sourdough still qualifies as 100% organic.
Is it gluten-free, or are there gluten-free options available?
While our sourdough isn't hard on the stomach, and my gluten intolerant family has been able to eat it without any issues, it is made with wheat flour and is NOT gluten free. We cannot guarantee that you will have the same results as Uncle J's family, but we hope you do!
How early do I need to place my order for next-day pickup?
We will need to receive your order 24 hours before your pickup time guarantee your fresh sourdough will be ready for you!
Do you offer same-day pickup?
At this time, we do not offer same day pickup, but if you're cutting it close to the 24 hour mark before your preferred pickup time, feel free to shoot us a message and we'll try our best to make it happen!
What types of sourdough loaves do you bake?
We bake round, baguette, and sandwich-style loaves with rotating weekly specials. Sign up to our email newsletter to stay updated on weekly specials!
Do you offer rotating weekly specials?
We do! Not every week will have a new special, but we hope to introduce more as resources allow!
How long will my sourdough stay fresh?
Sourdough naturally stays fresh longer than commercial bread. Your loaf will stay delicious for 3-4 days at room temperature, and even longer if properly stored.
What is the best way to store my sourdough?
Keep it in a paper bag or bread box at room temperature. Avoid plastic bags - they trap moisture and can make the crust soft. For longer storage, sourdough freezes beautifully.
Can I freeze the bread?
Absolutely. Slice it first if you like, wrap it tightly, and freeze. Just toast or warm slices whenever you want fresh bread.
Do you offer sliced loaves?
Not at this time. Hand-sliced sourdough varies too much in thickness, and we want your loaf to stay at peak freshness.
Do you bake in small batches?
Yes. Every loaf is mixed, fermented, shaped, and baked in small batches to ensure quality and freshness.
Are any preservatives used?
Never. Our bread is made with only organic flour, water, salt, and time. No preservatives, conditioners, or commercial additives.
Do you offer vegan options?
All of our sourdough loaves are naturally vegan - no dairy, eggs, or honey. Though our specialty loaves or bagels may use honey, cheese, or other ingredients, so please read the product descriptions for a full ingredient list.
Can I order multiple loaves at once?
Definitely. Just add as many as you need to your cart. For large orders, we appreciate a 1-2 day heads-up.
Do you accept bulk or catering orders?
Yes! If you need bread for an event, café, or gathering, send us a message and we’ll accommodate your order schedule.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay through our secure checkout.
Can I modify or cancel my order after placing it?
If you need to change anything, reach out as soon as possible. Because we start fermentation early, cancellations or changes must be made the same day the order is placed.
What happens if I miss my pickup window?
If you’re unable to make it, contact us and we’ll try to arrange a later pickup that day. Loaves not picked up by the end of the day are donated or eaten to reduce waste.
Do you offer delivery?
Not yet - all orders are pickup only. Delivery may be added in the future depending on demand.
Where do you source your flour and ingredients?
We venture deep into the hills of Novato… where we stumble upon a mysterious place… Costco. Kidding (mostly). We’re a home-based cottage bakery, so we source ingredients the same way a lot of serious home bakers do — from trusted, everyday spots.
We use organic all-purpose flour, organic extra-virgin olive oil, and wildflower honey. No secret labs, no questionable powders. Just solid, high-quality ingredients we’d happily use in our own kitchen — because we do.
Do you have a subscription program?
We do offer a subscription program. Just click on the product you'd like and you'll see a subscription option near the "Add to Cart" button!
How can I contact you if I have additional questions?
You can reach us anytime through the contact form on our website or by sending us a quick email at UncleJsSourdough@gmail.com!
